Welcome to the South: Photographs

Welcome to Savannah, home of Old Trees, Old Houses, and Spanish Moss.

Fountain in Forsyth Park, two blocks from home.

Home

The stairs down to River Street are very steep
to discourage drunk pirates from pillaging the city.

In Confederate territory now. Fort Pulaski, however, was taken by the Union in April, 1862.

Some surrealism at the beach on Tybee Island.

As well as some traditional scenery:
Morning glories on the dune.

And among the many critters of the area, an Eastern Mud Turtle:
"Welcome!"
